On 10 Nov, Sing Lit Station hosted the second session of our workshop series for the Migrant Writers of Singapore (MWS)—a session on Public Speaking and Communication Skills, organised in partnership with FridayMakers and supported by The Majurity Trust.
This session aimed to equip MWS volunteers with the confidence and tools to lead and facilitate impactful arts initiatives. Under the expert guidance of our facilitator, Daria Kalista, participants explored elements of engaging communication and practiced strategies to captivate and connect with their audiences.
Our participants shared about their experiences:
📝 Charo Sidon:
“I was inspired to become a better public speaker and amazed by how actively everyone participated. I learned the importance of focusing on the audience—it’s not about you, but them. This workshop reminded me to be grateful for who I am and to treat myself kindly as I grow.”
📝 Nelie Bautista:
“This is the first time I’ve participated in a workshop like this, and it was so lively! I am deeply grateful for the learnings shared by everyone, especially our facilitator, who made the sessions so energetic and friendly. Every piece of content is meaningful, and every lesson is priceless.”
With one more session ahead—focused on Facilitation Skills—we’re excited to continue empowering this community to lead and inspire through the arts. 💬✨
Our deepest thanks to FridayMakers and The Majurity Trust for making this series possible. Here’s to amplifying voices and building stronger teams, one workshop at a time! 🙌
